Summer in Schladming
Versatile holiday experience in the heart of Austria

Finally holidays! Everyone enjoys the most important days of the year in their own way. What sport and adventure are for one, the seclusion and closeness to nature delight the other - for the third it is the sociability or being carried away ... The Schladming holiday region is your perfect travel destination - regardless of your requirements and whether you are traveling alone, with family, friends or with a group. Everything is offered here, from relaxed nature experiences on the mountain to sporty and active adventures such as rafting or canyoning.
Active
vacation
  • A paradise for those seeking peace and quiet and active vacationers at the same time. The mountain summer between the Dachstein and the Schladminger Tauern has so much more to offer - relaxation and enjoyment are almost inevitable!
  • At lofty heights, on the Dachstein at around 2.700 meters above sea level, the most beautiful peaks appear close enough to touch.
  • Sportland: Set your own pace and discover 1.000 kilometers of hiking trails, 930 km of bike and mountain bike routes, 45 running and nordic walking routes, several golf courses and 14 climbing routes as well as countless opportunities for outdoor sports such as rafting, canyoning, archery, summer skiing or paragliding.
  • Water - lakes - sources: The more than 300 mountain lakes, 100 large and small waterfalls, the high alpine water landscapes, natural biotopes with their unique flora and fauna, raised bogs and natural bogs offer obvious enjoyment and a fabulous recreational and adventure landscape. Canyons made of shiny marble, right up to healing springs and powerful places.
  • Lush alpine valleys, magnificent mountain peaks, clear streams and clean air ...

Climbing and via ferratas

In the high alpine terrain of the region, the 3.000 meter mark is just about to be climbed. Budding mountain enthusiasts should, however, complete courses with qualified guides beforehand, because only the necessary safety guarantees carefree experiences in alpine sports. Anyone who dares to take on the adventure of climbing should definitely be trained beforehand in one of the climbing schools. Our via ferratas on the Dachstein "from easy to very difficult" enable you to get the fastest and safest kick of the vertical! You need: good mental and physical fitness and equipment. Our alpine schools ensure maximum safety. Ramsau am Dachstein has a reputation as a climbing eldorado far ahead of it. No wonder, given the long alpine tradition and 18 via ferratas.
For the little climbing kids: Children's via ferrata on the Sattelberg/Ramsau - guided climbing tours once a week; via ferrata "Hias" Silberkarklamm

Adventure parks

The regional adventure parks and climbing gardens - they are led by qualified guides - convey the first steps towards alpine sports. It's about getting sure-footed and getting used to heights. Climbing between trees and treetops, climbing from climbing towers and light rock faces, floating with the flying fox, securing ropes and much more. All of this means the entry into the proverbial “higher” tasks. The adventure parks have special facilities for children. Here, too, safety is the top priority.

Stoderzinken Adventure Park:
  • over 200 elements and stations
  • 18 different courses - easy to challenging
  • 3 flying Fox courses
  • 30 flying fox elements
  • course heights: 1 - 15 m
  • stuntman jump and sensations parcours
  • 2 children's courses
  • 20.000 m² parking space

Running & Nordic Walking

Running and nordic walking are real "fountains of youth". Both sports are proven to keep you fit, are inexpensive and do not require any special equipment or previous knowledge. The regional offer for practicing these endurance sports corresponds to the most varied of requirements - for young and old, beginners and veterans. Guided tours of the tourism associations complete the offer. Access to the regional running and nordic walking network begins right on the doorstep of the Keinprecht Hotels. The nordic walking swing in Pichl is a regional specialty. It comprises six signposted routes over a total distance of over 50 km. The sunny plateau Ramsau am Dachstein is also interesting for fans of this sport, because here there is the most extensive running and nordic walking network in the region with eight marked routes at distances of one to 42 km and at an altitude of 1.000 to 1.700 m.

Action-packed water experiences

A call to all water enthusiasts, big or small: In the region, the Enns, numerous streams, small waterfalls, channels and mountain lakes tempt you to adventures of the refreshing, sparkling kind. . . and whoever brings a little sociability increases the fun factor immensely! In the interests of the safety of each individual, tours should only be undertaken with professional guides. You alone have the necessary qualifications, are familiar with the local conditions and provide the necessary equipment.

Rafting: paddling in a rubber dinghy along the Enns or Salza and getting to know the landscape from a completely different perspective - that is rafting, a little bit of adventure for groups or families (attention: there are age limits for children!). The Keinprecht Hotels will make the necessary contacts if you are interested.

Canyoning: In this leisure activity, the participants hike through streams, rappel down in small to medium-sized waterfalls, slide through water-bearing gorges and jump into rock troughs. Canyoning requires surefootedness as well as a little strength and endurance. But be careful: only take a tour under the guidance of qualified guides. They also provide the necessary equipment.

Kayak: A local operator offers courses for beginners, advanced and experts. Anyone who wants to “get a taste” of this sport has the opportunity to do so at the leisure lake in Aich (between Schladming and Gröbming). Children with the Summercard can taste once a week for free.
